Alborz is tucked away in a shopping center on Anderson Lane and Shoal Creek. We were in the mood for middle eastern food and had originally decided to go to Ararat--unfotunately it was closed for a private party on Saturday night (guess I'll learn to call first). We decided to head over to Alborz to sate our craving. I got familiar with this cuisine when the owners of Alborz had a food stand at Northcross mall called Taco Arriba--kinda wierd getting wonderful kabobs and rice from a Mexican food stand. I ordered a marinated chicken kabob (with a wonderful lemon flavor), my wife the vegetarian plate from which I stole a couple of dolmehs, and our guest salmon. The Persian ice cream--vanilla ice-cream with saffron and rose water--was the highlight of the evening. One serving was enough for three of us.

Alborz is probably one of my FAVORITE places to eat! I recently had surgery and had not been able to eat much. I went to Alborz for lunch, they had the buffet, and ate more in that one lunch than I had all week combined! The Gormeh Sabzi is AWESOME! as is everything else I have tried. I very Highly recommend Alborz to anyone and everyone!

RRRRRRRRRRRReeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddddI think Alborz is great! Even if my dad(Mohammad Kosari)owns the place. The food is healthy and awsomely good!. I'm Parisa Kosari the daughter of Mohammad Kosari. I think he's done a wonderful job running the place. You too mom(Freshteh Kosari)!. People reading this should go to his new restauraunt called "Tino's Greek Cafe". Amazingly good food as well. Where is it located? I don't know. All I know is that it is where "Phillys" used to be. -Parisa Ksari

Do you have the traditional barberi bread - the long, flat loaves, baked in the big stone ovens?

My wife and I drive to Austin from San Antonio to dine at Alborz on a regular basis. The food is is terrific, the best Persian cuisine we've had here in Texas! And the service is five-star also! For dessert, we highly recommend the roulette. If you've never had Persian cuisine before, we highly recommend the trip to Alborz! No matter how high gas prices go, I refuse to give up my regular journey to Alborz!
